Local space expert Ivan Aksenov will play celestial tour guide at Aldinga library on Thursday 9 May.

He will tell the thrilling tale of this nation’s ambitious leap into the cosmos in a his presentation - Australia's Journey to the Stars: The Formation of the Australian Space Agency and Beyond.

The Australian Space Agency was established in 2018 with its headquarters in Adelaide.

Ivan will discuss the historical events, strategic decisions, and innovative partnerships that led to its creation and outline its significant achievements and plans for the future.

He is a former European Space Agency consultant and worked at the European Space Operations Centre on a range of support missions.

He is now involved in SpaceDAO, a Space Traffic Management solution, and is a keen space conservationist.
