About Leon

Leon grew up on a farm in the state’s south-east and from an early age understood the importance of agriculture. He is passionate about finding new markets for our food, wine and primary industries and has led the charge for South Australia to be GM free.

In tourism, Leon is continually promoting South Australia around the world and encourages all South Australians to holiday at home. He has successfully secured tens of millions of additional money in the State Budget for tourism to market our state and attract conventions and major events here.

Leon has been the Member for Mawson since 2006 and has helped schools, community groups and businesses.

He successfully pushed for legislation to lock in agricultural preserves to stop gutter to gutter housing taking over the rich production lands of McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley.
