The Strathalbyn Show Society is determined to put on a fantastic show in 2021 after the disappointment of having to cancel last year's event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020 show would have also been a celebration of 150 years of history of the show society.
Organisers say they will be dusting themselves off, getting a COVID management plan in place and bringing their “best year yet”.
This year’s show will take place on Monday 4 October (during the long weekend) and the society has launched a new website at strathalbynshow.com.au.
COVID-19 topped off a challenging few years for local show organisers.
The Port Elliot and Yankalilla shows were also cancelled due to the pandemic and the Port Elliot show was also called off in 2016, due to flooding.
The Strathalbyn Show has also had to adapt in recent years due to extreme heat and wind conditions.
The 2021 Port Elliot show is scheduled to go ahead on the weekend of 9 and 10 October and the Yankalilla Show will go ahead on Saturday, 2 October.
The show societies are always in need of volunteers and help to stage the shows.
