How to package your passion and expertise to deliver to others was the theme for the latest McLaren Vale dinner for the Women in Business Regional Network.
The presenter for the evening was Sharon McGann of A Passion for Results.
COVID-19 created many opportunities for people to get online and deliver information and training programs, along with coaching and mentoring, and has sparked a renewed interest in sharing knowledge with others.
Sharon is a facilitator and trainer, particularly in the social enterprise and not-for-profit sectors.
She encourages people to think carefully about their audience, including their knowledge and openness to learning, while also working out what everyone wants to achieve from any training.
Sharon says deciding what you want your audience to feel at the end of the session was also important in determining how it would be delivered.
The presentation created great interest among the women in attendance, with several looking to conduct workshops and training programs to share their expertise, or to empower others to improve themselves.
The dinner was held at the Meeting Place, McLaren Vale, which is once again able to accommodate network functions after several months’ absence due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions.
The next McLaren Vale function will be a lunch on May 26 at Angoves, when entrepreneurship facilitator Wendy Perry will speak about building a business and personal brand.
This will be followed by a dinner on July 5 at the Meeting Place, when Paula Dickson from Lined Up Ducks will speak on how to write compelling grant applications.
The Women in Business Regional Network is open to business owners, managers, staff and those dreaming of owning their own business.
You don’t have to be a member to attend events, but bookings are essential via Eventbrite. For more information about the Women in Business Regional Network visit the website or phone Carolyn on 0435 432 203.
