SA Whale Centre have now confirmed at least 3 Southern Right Whales are in the Encounter Bay area.
Our lazy whale from this morning is currently 350m off of Deppledge beach and moving very slowly towards The Bluff. This whale has been hanging about in this general area all morning and still appears to be in no rush to move along.
There are at least 2 Southern Right Whale's that were first sighted at Freeman's Knob, but seem to be in a great hurry. They have just left Chiton Rocks and are heading towards Victor harbor. These whales are a bit further out than the one at the Bluff, so you will need your binoculars if you are out hoping to spot them.
According to the centre, it is still incredibly important to maintain social distancing when out whale watching this season and to keep washing or sanitising your hands whenever possible. The centre encourages everyone to get out and about to have a look for whales but urges the public to do it safely and respectfully.
Keep your eyes peeled and if you see a whale, remember to call the SA Whale Centre on 08 8551 0750, send them a message on their Facebook page or enter a report online at www.sawhalecentre.com.au
