A major survey on access and inclusion will inform Alexandrina Council’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP).
The council wants to hear from people with a personal, family or professional experience of disability.
This may include physical disability; acquired brain injury; hearing impaired; neurological; vision impaired; speech impaired; memory loss; mental health; or difficulty with communication or ability to learn.
The DAIP aims to build community that is accessible and inclusive for all and the council is keen to gain community feedback on the future of the Alexandrina region.
State legislation requires all councils to develop a DAIP based on a vision of fairness and respect.
It must focus on inclusive communities; leadership and collaboration; learning and employment; and accessible communities.
Councils must publish their DAIP by 31 October 2020 and must review and update them every four years.
Share your ideas online to help make Alexandrina Council and the community more accessible and inclusive for people with a disability.
Or you can make a written submission by email or by post to PO Box 21, Goolwa SA 5214.
If you have any questions contact council's Corporate Risk Officer on 8555 7000, but they ask that people refer to the key information document before completing the survey.
