Yankalilla Showgrounds will play host to Fleurieu Ag Fest next Monday 20 March, the inaugural Ag tech field day and careers expo.

The event aims to showcase the diversity and abundance of ag career pathways and related industries, as well as the latest ideas and technology in agriculture, primary production, and conservation and land management.

It offers the opportunity to explore the latest trends in agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, fisheries, forestry, conservation and land management, agritourism and value adding. 

Students will be able to gain ideas for school projects; inspiration for careers, work experience and subject choices.

There will be speaker and panel sessions from 10.30am targeted for students but open to all and sessions targeted for producers and community members from 2pm onwards, followed by a barbecue.

Topics include the practicalities of carbon farming; regenerative farming; animal and vet science; climate projections; and heavy vehicle regulations.

Gates open to the public from 9.30am - with displays until at least 4pm.
