The inaugural Aldinga Airshow, held on 7 April, has been declared South Australian state winner for Best Small Event (under 500k) at the prestigious Australian Event Awards.

The awards were held in Sydney on Wednesday 23 October.

Hosted by Aldinga Aviation at the local airfield and supported by City of Onkaparinga, the show was a big attraction for the Fleurieu region.

Heart Kids, Angel Flight and Food Bank were charities to benefit from the event, along with local businesses and community groups.

Airshow organisers are proud of their achievement and hope the win will help attract major sponsors and organisers for the next show, planned for 2026.

 This will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Aldinga Airfield, which was established by local pilots in 1976.
