The Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket Association (AEHCA) competition resumes on Saturday after the Christmas/New Year break, with four interesting games in round 11. Langhorne Creek has been the standout side so far in 2022/23, sitting undefeated on top of the ladder. Reigning premier Lobethal are in second spot and look to be a major threat again, as do 2020/21 premier Nairne. In their second season back in ‘A’ grade ranks after a long hiatus, Macclesfield has been the real ‘surprise packet’ so far this season with five wins to sit just inside the top-four. Strathalbyn and Bremer/Callington are still well and truly in the hunt, while Woodside and Hahndorf will be looking to upset a few teams on the run home.
Daniel Jenner (Hahndorf) 358 runs, Luke Cousins (Strathalbyn) 329, Daniel Kropp (Langhorne Creek) 294, Shannon Howie (Bremer/Callington) 241, and Kieran O’Connell (Macclesfield) 222, are the top-five run scorers after round 10. Nathan Fitzgerald (Bremer/Callington) 24 wickets, Lachlan Barrett (Macclesfield) 22, Matt Martin (Lobethal) 15, Brayden Gaiter (Strathalbyn) 14, Troy Blackwell (Langhorne Creek) 13, Connor Moore (Macclesfield) 13, and Shane Druwitt (Woodside) 13, are the leading bowlers.
