Alexandrina takes climate action

Alexandrina Council has called for community nominations to its Climate Emergency Advisory Committee.

This time last year the council supported a climate emergency declaration including, as one of the actions, establishment of a section 41 Climate Emergency Advisory Committee.

The Committee will consist of two councillors and the Mayor in an ex-officio capacity, up to five community representatives, and one Independent Chairperson.

Positions are voluntary and members will be appointed for a two-year term.

The Committee’s function is to support and provide advice to the council on matters relating to its Climate Emergency Declaration.

Nominate for membership of the Committee, or to be Chairperson by accessing the Application Form for the Committee member  and the Application Form for the Chairperson online.

Completed application forms with accompanying CV must be submitted by 5pm on Sunday, 10 January 2021.

It is a pre-requisite that community representatives appointed to the Section 41 Alexandrina Climate Emergency Advisory Committee live or are ratepayers in the Alexandrina Council area.

Information on the functions and responsibilities of the Committee can be found on the Alexandrina Council website.
