Never mind Mad March, it will be an Awesome April in Alexandrina with more than 160 events celebrating the region’s food, wine, and maritime history.

The inaugural SA Wooden Boat Festival Food, Wine, and Experience Program will run throughout the month, offering visitors a celebration of Alexandrina.

Events will be spread across more than 20 locations, from Goolwa to Langhorne Creek. 

April’s festivities are the result of collaboration between growers, winemakers, creatives, and businesses from across the region, working together with Alexandrina Council. 

Foodies and wine enthusiasts can treat themselves to a range of gourmet tastings that include locally sourced seafood, artisan cheeses, freshly baked bread, paired with the finest wines from one of the state’s renowned wine regions. 

The festival will also offer special Murray River cruises, live music, artisan markets, and food and wine masterclasses with some of Fleurieu Peninsula’s top chefs and winemakers. 

The highlight of the month will be the iconic SA Wooden Boat Festival at Alexandrina Cove, Hindmarsh Island over the last weekend in April.

Business Alexandrina has worked to link local businesses to opportunities, and to support the development the event program.
