Strathalbyn businesses took out first and second prizes, while two Goolwa businesses tied for third place in the Alexandrina Mayor’s best dressed windows competition.

The race has been on since 7 December to make the most eye-catching display of lights to celebrate the festive season.

Mayor Keith Parkes judged Rustic Gem, in Strathalbyn’s High Street, to be the winner, with Maidment Meats coming second.

Joint third place was awarded to Goolwa Dentists and Convenient Chef, both in Cadell Street.

Alexandrina Council has thanked all businesses that participated this year for providing a bit of festive sparkle.

The council funds provision of fairy lights to businesses that opt to join in the annual Christmas display.
