Willunga’s Almond Blossom Festival is back in 2021 for a weekend of family-friendly fun.

The festival will take place on 24–25 July at the Willunga Recreation Park and will feature an exciting mix of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

Local musicians will play all weekend at the music marquee; the sideshow will feature amusement rides, camel and pony rides, and circus entertainers; local food and beverages will be on offer; plus the opportunity to learn about the varieties of almonds at the Almond Hub.

Running in its 51st year in 2021, the community fundraiser for the Willunga Recreation Park attracts up to 8000 visitors to the Fleurieu region.

Event Coordinator Heather Williams says she cannot wait to see the local festival return after missing out last year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“This weekend is a family favourite in our region, and funds raised this year will go towards our new kitchen and bar project,” Heather says.

Highlights this year will include the Pivotal Dance Troupe from Seaford showcasing their classes, a display of vintage and classic cars by Fleurieu enthusiasts, and the annual almond cracking competition.

“And we are pleased to say we will be hosting our annual fireworks display this year,” Heather says.

Entries in the almond-inspired cookery competition will be on display all weekend in the CWA rooms. Bakers are encouraged to enter the competition with their almond-inspired recipes.

Gates open 11 am to 9 pm Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday.
