Libraries may not yet be able to hold their usual array of special events, but Onkaparinga Libraries will host an online talk by author Tanya Heaslip on Friday 29 May.
She will talk about her latest book – An Alice Girl: Growing Up in Isolation, the story of her childhood in the 60s and 70s.
Tanya Heaslip was born on a cattle station in outback Australia at the height of the Cold War.
She grew up to study and then practice law, before travelling to Europe for the first time in 1989.
In 1994 she moved to the Czech Republic, where she taught English for two-and-a-half years.
Tanya published her first memoir, Alice to Prague, last year. It was the charming true story of an outback girl who finds adventure - and love - on the other side of the world.
She now lives back in Alice Springs, in the Northern Territory, with her husband.
The talk will take place online from 1pm to 2.30pm. Register via Eventbrite to receive an email with a zoom link to join the session.
