A man has been arrested after a pursuit through the southern suburbs overnight.
Police will allege that about 12.40am today (Friday 24 March), PolAir officers saw a black Subaru sedan speeding at Christie Downs.
The car was seen speeding south on Dyson Road, before travelling through numerous streets in O’Sullivan Beach and Port Noarlunga. It was then seen driving north on Lovelock Drive, east on Goldsmith Drive and then onto Beach Road towards the Southern Expressway.
The Subaru travelled north on the Expressway before exiting on Marion Road.
Road spikes were deployed near the Netley Police Station and the driver was arrested soon after, when the vehicle came to a stop on Henley Beach Road at Torrensville after losing a front tyre.
A search of the car uncovered a baseball bat and capsules believed to contain illicit drugs.
The 19-year-old Morphett Vale man was charged with numerous offences including trafficking a controlled drug, dangerous driving to escape a police pursuit, driving at a dangerous speed and breach of bail.
He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today.
