Arrest at Christies Beach

A man and woman have been arrested after they were found in a unoccupied building in Christies Beach this morning.


Just after 1.30am on Friday 11 February, police were called to a vacant childcare centre on Mander Road after reports of people being seen to walk around the premises with torches.


Patrols quickly attended and set up cordons around the area and brought in dog operations with PD Jax to assist in the search.


After a quick search, one of the suspects fled from a unit block next to the center and ran towards the police cordon, the second suspect was located by PD Jax hiding the unit block which is under renovation. Both were arrested.


A 40-year-old man from Morphett Vale has been charged with being unlawfully on premises, unlawful possession and drug offences.


A 32-year-old woman from Morphett Vale has been charged with unlawfully on premises, breach of bail, unlawful possession and possess counterfeit notes.


Both have been refused police bail and will attend at the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today.
