Crime Gangs Task Force officers have arrested six men following a fight at a shopping centre in June.
Police will allege that on Sunday 30 June, seven men engaged in an affray inside the Colonnades Shopping Centre at Noarlunga and that the men were armed with chairs, scissors and a baton. Police also allege two of the men involved are members of the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
Following an investigation, a 40-year-old man from Aldinga Beach, a 32-year-old man from South Plympton, a 31-year-old man from Reynella, a 27-year-old man from Noarlunga Downs and a 23-year-old man from Morphett Vale have been arrested and charged with aggravated affray.
The men were granted police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Thursday 26 September.
A 46-year-old Christies Beach man, who is currently remanded in custody on other charges was reported and will face court at a later date. A further arrest is anticipated.
Detective Chief Inspector David Huddy, Officer in Charge of the Crime Gangs Task Force said, “Public displays of violence and the use of weapons creates a risk of harm to innocent bystanders, especially within the confines of a shopping centre. Swift action was taken by the Crime Gangs Task Force when the investigation identified those alleged to be responsible.”
