The thrill of publicly exhibiting a piece of art had school students excited during last weekend’s 2025 SALA Southern Fleurieu Schools Exhibition at Encounter Bay Lutheran College.

More than 500 people gathered for the opening night celebrations on Saturday 30 August to view the creative artworks of students from across eleven schools and colleges.

Finniss MP David Basham was among the art lovers supporting the event that was part of the SA Living Artists Festival (SALA).

Mr Basham says he was impressed by the high quality of art on display by Fleurieu school students.

“Art is so important to a community. It connects a community and gives it an identity to be proud of.

“I want to thank the teachers and students who participated in the exhibition. So much work and time went into the exhibits, and it showcased the impressive talents of our students.”
