Art show deadline approaches

The deadline to enter the annual Rotary Victor Harbor art show is Wednesday 30 November.

January 2023 will see the 44th show of what has become Australia’s largest outdoor art exhibition.

An intrinsic part of the town’s culture, the event attracts thousands of visitors each year.

It will be held in a huge marquee on Warland Reserve from Saturday 14 January to Saturday 21 January.

The show is preceded by a ticketed preview event on Friday 13 January and is then open to the public daily from 9.30am to 8.30pm.

Adult entry costs $8, with children under 16 free.

Artists will be notified if their entries have been accepted to the show in mid-December.

The prize pool of $22,000 includes the Victor Harbor art prize of $12,500, two painting awards of $5,000 and $3,000, a sculpture award of $1,000 and a people’s choice award of $500.

There are also gold, silver and bronze awards in two youth categories – junior under 13 years and senior, ages 13 to 16.

Full details can be found on the art show website.
