The City of Victor Harbor has called for people to nominate for two vacant positions on its Arts and Culture Advisory Group.
The advisory group helps to plan and support implementation of the council’s Community Plan 2030 with initiatives that cultivate a vibrant community culture.
It actively supports the Culture Strategy – Arts and Heritage 2022-27 and the current term of community members of the group expires in June 2012.
Other tasks include assessing applications for relevant grants; giving advice on applications for Coral Street Art Space exhibitions; and reviewing and advising on council documentation that relates to Arts and Culture.
Nominations can be lodged by post, email, or in person to the civic centre; the deadline is 5pm on Thursday, 5 February.
A nomination form can be downloaded online and further information about being a community member of a council committee is available via email or phone 8551 0500.
The last two meetings of the Arts and Culture Advisory Group, scheduled for 30 October and 27 November last year, did not reach a quorum – the minimum number required to conduct business.
The next meeting is due to be held on 29 January.
