The City of Onkaparinga is asking for community feedback on the four events it runs each year on Australia Day, 26 January.

The four events are:

• The Australia Day Bush Fair, including the ‘Fireworks’ display.
• Citizenship Ceremony.
• Presentation of Australia Day Awards.
• Community breakfasts at Happy Valley, Noarlunga and Willunga.

The review of its Australia Day events has resulted from feedback on the five major events the council holds each year, which identified opportunities for improvement.

The council says it understands and respects that the community may feel passionately about the date of Australia Day, its consultation is only about the events held.

The City of Onkaparinga has no jurisdiction over the setting of public holidays.
