The next live author event at the Victor Harbor library will feature writer Kym Watson on Thursday 24 June.
Born in Whyalla, South Australia, Kym spent his formative years in Port Adelaide.
Following a cancer diagnosis in 2014 and then Parkinson’s Disease in 2016, he wrote an autobiography for his grandchildren titled In the blink of an Eye.
This inspired him to write his first fiction novel, Spirit of Pearl and The Man Upstairs.
The first of a three-book series, it’s a story of adventure, courage, integrity and friendship.
The story begins when two friends decide to sail from Australia to Antarctica to find the last known location of a square rigger known as the Pearl, which mysteriously vanished off the coast of Antarctica.
Arrive 10 minutes early for a 6pm start for this free event. Bookings are required – register via Eventbrite.
Books will be available for purchase and signing at Victor Harbor Public Library, 1 Bay Road.
