Local author Rob Barden will speak about his latest book at the Victor Harbor Library on Friday 20 November.
Rob has had a long fascination with the link between modern theology and algebraic physics.
His novel, The Girl Who Danced In Strict Time, is an attempt to reconcile the two.
Join him in the library from 6pm as he discusses how the book evolved and how his international travels impacted on this evolution.
The Girl Who Danced In Strict Time is the story of Anna Ludmilla Smyrnoi, a highly intelligent Soviet woman born in 1950.
Following a 1971 nuclear accident she is set adrift in time and space, finding herself in different countries in different times.
She meets an Indian guru, a monk, Buddhists, a nun and some Islamic teachers, who all try to persuade her to their world views.
This is a book providing much to consider while never losing sight of its prime directive, to tell a good story.
The novel is set in Moscow, Siberia, Varanasi, Bodhgaya, Kandahar, Athens, Rome and rural South Australia.
With the exception of Afghanistan the author has lived or travelled in all of them.
Books will be available for purchase and signing, on the evening. Reserve a place via Eventbrite.
The Victor Harbor library is at the Civic Centre on Bay Road.
