Perennially-popular South Australian author Victoria Purman will discuss her latest novel, A Woman's Work, at the Victor Harbor library on Wednesday 3 May.
Set in Post-War Australia, the novel explores the extraordinary lives of ordinary women.
It's 1956, and while Melbourne is gearing up for the Olympics, women all over the country are vying for their chance to win the equivalent of a year's salary in the Australian Women's Weekly cookery contest.
The story focuses on two women in particular, Ivy and Kathleen, whose lives could potentially be changed forever by the competition.
Victoria Purman is an award-nominated bestselling author who is a regular guest at writers’ festivals, a mentor and workshop presenter.
The team from South Seas Books & Trading will sell copies of her books on the night, ready to be signed by the author.
Wine and nibbles will be provided at this free event, which starts at 6pm. Register to attend via Eventbrite.
