Biz Fest to future proof Victor businesses Kelly Baker-Jamieson of Edible Blooms will host a seminar in the 2019 Victor Harbor Biz Fest.

The City of Victor Harbor has announced the return of its Biz Fest, with a series of events set to inform, empower and sustain local businesses.

Teaming up with Business Victor Harbor, the focus on this year’s festival program is ‘future-proofing’ businesses by adapting to technology and trends.

The professional development sessions focus on social media and digital marketing, retail visual merchandising, accelerating business growth and profit and tax essentials and online reporting.

Kick-starting the 2019 Biz Fest is the Victor Harbor business community night of nights - the Beyond Bank Outstanding Business Awards, at McCracken Country Club on 8 November.

Resident entrepreneur and marketer Kelly Baker-Jamieson, of Edible Blooms, will host The Future of Marketing seminar and share her expertise in staying on-trend to grow your business.

“The City of Victor Harbor is dedicated to providing support to our growing business community, while the rewards of running a business can be enormous, the challenges can be daunting too,” says City of Victor Harbor Mayor Dr Moira Jenkins.

“Our digital business space has an incredible influence on how small businesses operate – the right path for future proofing will be different for everyone.

“Biz Fest aims to support local businesses by providing expert insights that address ways to increase business productivity and the ability to withstand changing market conditions.”

The 2019 Biz Fest program has been crafted based on feedback provided by local businesses through the 2018 Victor Harbor Business Survey and economic profiling work undertaken by the council.

“Through the most recent business survey, we know that businesses are looking at new ways of providing their product or service; that they’re seeking marketing training; and that managing cashflow and profitability is high on their agenda,” says Business Victor Harbor Chair Nick Gormley.

“Businesses, large and small, all have time constraints so we have strategically placed these series of events during times that were highlighted as most appropriate by our local businesses.”

The City of Victor Harbor has subsidised the cost of the seminars in a bid to ensure that all businesses, regardless of their size, have access to quality business advice and information. Visit the City of Victor Harbor's website to find out more and to register for an event.
