Onkaparinga Libraries presents the second of its online author talks this week, bringing the library into your home.
Melbourne writer and blogger Imbi Neeme will talk about her recently published book The Spill on Friday 12 June from 2-3pm.
She won the 2019 Penguin Literary Prize for the unpublished manuscript of her novel and has since had the pleasure of seeing her work go into print.
The story was inspired by events from her childhood and delves into how traumatic memories can be seen so differently by different people and even become fictionalised over time.
Nicole and Samantha Cooper both remember the summer day in 1982 when their mother, Tina, lost control of their car – but not in quite the same way.
It is only after Tina’s death almost four decades later that the sisters are forced to reckon with the repercussions of the crash.
Imbi received the 2019 Henry Handel Richardson Fellowship at Varuna for excellence in Short Story Writing and has won awards for her short fiction.
For more information about Imbi and her writing check out her website. To join the online chat register for the event via Eventbrite.
On the day of the event, participants will receive an email with a Zoom link to attend the session.
