Susie Williams of the Fleurieu App has been selected to take part in a collaboration of rural businesswomen – contributing her story and advice in a new book.
‘Rural Business Women – Advice and inspiration to grow your business from regional Australia’, aims to inspire and offer advice to other rural women who are thinking of, or have already started, a business from a rural, regional or remote area of Australia.
Said to be the first of its kind, the book will focus specifically on the emerging army of women who are starting and growing successful businesses outside the usual larger cities.
Many of these women live within fairly remote farming communities that can be quite isolated, making it a massive challenge to grow their business with limited support.
Many also have the responsibility of supporting their family financially and tend to juggle their business commitments around numerous other activities and responsibilities.
Susie hopes that by sharing her advice, she can provide encouragement and support to other rural businesswomen who have the dream of creating their own business empire from the bush.
Her chapter is ‘Keeping the business woman alive - reinventing yourself’, with her tips and guide to resilience and reinventing yourself in an ever-changing world.
Other chapters include advice on mindset, getting started, marketing and systems for growth.
Moving regularly for her husband’s work has provided many challenges, but has also provided the platform for many opportunities for Susie.
“I like new challenges. I am not sure that I seek them out, but I have always been willing to be open minded and grab change by the horns,” she says.
Coordinated by Sarah Walkerden of The Rural Copywriter, a Copywriter & Marketing Specialist based in regional Victoria, the book will be professionally published before Christmas.
