Branding tips for women in businessWomen in Business: Alice & Kellie Thomas, Esther Cruikshank, Vivienne Goodenough, Bev Tyler, Tracey Barnes, Julie Dunlap, Sharne Ribeiro, Demelza Thorpe and Liz O’Hara.

Getting to know your brand and making the best use of it were the themes for the latest Women in Business Regional Network dinner in Strathalbyn.

The guest speaker was Demelza Thorpe, the network’s Adelaide Hills Convenor and founder of Powdermonkey Design in Mount Barker.

Demi gave a workshop-style presentation, encouraging those present to think about their brand, their unique selling points and what they could do to use their brand better to market their business.

The message was that a brand is much more than just a logo, it includes every touch point with the public, including an email signature, messages on hold, the way of greeting customers, what products and services are offered and how they are delivered.

The dinner gave the opportunity for network founder Carolyn Jeffrey to speak about its latest developments thanks to a grant from Regional Development Australia Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island.

A new program including group coaching and mentoring, plus the opportunity to build business manuals and resources, was introduced in August, and an online magazine celebrating regional women in business across Australia will be launched in November.

The next Strathalbyn dinner is scheduled for Monday 22 November, with guest speaker Nan Berrett from Word Solutions in the Clare Valley.

Nan has built her successful business on networking and will share the tips she has learned along the way to help her to network, despite being a self-confessed introvert.

The Women in Business Regional Network is open to business owners, managers, staff and those dreaming of owning their own business.  You don’t have to be a member to attend events, but bookings are essential via Eventbrite.
