The horse drawn tram to Granite Island will be off the tracks from Monday 2 August, with the start of Stage One works on the Causeway Plaza.
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) will redevelop the Causeway Plaza area, where the Causeway is accessed, in two stages.
It will include new planter boxes, landscaping, and public seating.
Works will be undertaken Monday to Saturday between 7am and 5pm.
The public will still be able to access Granite Island and Causeway Plaza businesses while the work continues, but the horses will take an extended break for safety reasons.
Stage One is scheduled for completion in late September, weather permitting.
The redevelopment of the Plaza area, including a new tram platform and rail transition to the new Causeway is expected to be complete in late 2021.
Full details of the redevelopment are on the City of Victor Harbor website.
