New Year’s Eve is forecast to be the nicest weather of the festive season so far; perfect for parties and fireworks across the region.
Here are some of the ways to celebrate on the Fleurieu on Sunday 31 December.
Goolwa - Fireworks off the Bridge
Organised by local community groups and businesses, fireworks will light up the skies over the Goolwa wharf on this free, family-friendly event.
The Hindmarsh Island Bridge will be closed for a couple of hours from 11pm. See the Alexandrina council website for road closure details.
The Goolwa Wharf Rotary markets will be on from 9am to 3pm.
Normanville - pageant returns
Starting at 7.30pm the pageant floats travel from Katherine Drive to the Basin at the Normanville foreshore, with food stalls at the foreshore from 4.30pm.
Music and celebrations continue after the pageant, around 8.15pm, with fireworks scheduled for 9.30pm.
Temporary road closures and restricted access will apply between 6.30pm and 11pm; see the Yankalilla council website for details.
Port Willunga - dance party
An all ages event at Port Willunga Beach, near the old pylons, from 6pm, with music provided by Dancing Room, Nathan Till and Tremain Jennings.
Partygoers can request favourite tunes be played at the event by lodging a vote online by 12noon on Sunday 31 December.
There will be an amazing sand castle display nearby on the beach.
Victor Harbor - Warland Reserve
The town will be abuzz with live music, carnival rides roving performers and free face painting, starting at 7.30pm.
There will be an early fireworks show at 9:45pm, for those who need to get to bed, as well as the traditional midnight show.
Road closures and security guards will be in place around the event site for safety of visitors. Visit the council website for details.

SteamRanger - special train service
The New Year’s Eve Train will depart Strathalbyn at 7pm, taking a sunset journey to Victor Harbor, arriving in time for the family fireworks at 9.45pm.
The train departs Victor Harbour at 10.30pm for Goolwa, where passengers can enjoy the fireworks at midnight off the Hindmarsh Island bridge.
It will then depart Goolwa at 12.30am, arriving back at Strathalbyn around 1.30am. Bookings available on 1300 655 991.
