A series of three interactive workshops on building individual, community and regional action in the food community will be offered in Yankalilla.
They are aimed at people who want to become more active food citizens, who are invited to share their thoughts on food resilience and sustainability.
Co-hosted by The Food Embassy, Fleurieu Environment Centre, and District Council of Yankalilla, the sessions will feature inspiring guests, practical skills, take-home resources and time for discussion.
Guest speakers will include local foodie Tara, permaculture practitioner Bill Mansell and chair of the Onkaparinga Food Security Collaborative Sharon McCann.
The plan is to kickstart a locally led food project, with mentoring support available after the series to help bring ideas to life.
The workshops will be held on Mondays 16, 23 and 30 June at Yankalilla Library from 5.30pm to 7pm.
Tickets cost $40 for all three workshops, $30 concession, or $15 for a single session and include a light snack and drink.
