In the lead up to the fire season the Country Fire Service will hold a series of free Bushfire Ready and Firey Women workshops across the Fleurieu and KI.
Bushfire Ready is an information session, open to everyone, to learn about bushfire behaviour and warnings.
The sessions will also cover property preparation; where to go and when; and Bushfire Survival Plans.
Firey Women offers a series of free bushfire safety workshops tailored for women.
The four sessions cover understanding bushfire and warnings; deciding when to leave early or stay and defend; preparing emotionally; operating fire pumps and equipment; and preparing a Bushfire Survival Plan.
Attendance is required at all the Firey Women sessions to receive full benefit.
