Cricket season is around the corner and the Adelaide Strikers will launch its Great Southern Strikers Girls Cricket League.

The call is out for girls to join the under 16 T20 competition for the season starting 31 October.

No experience is needed and all equipment will be provided.

In a first for the region, five Great Southern Cricket Association clubs will participate in the local league.

They are McLaren Districts, Port Elliot, Willunga, Rapid Bay and Victor Harbor.

Strathalbyn Cricket Club will also take part in the competition, as part of the Upper Fleurieu Division.
