The Heritage Fleurieu Coast Festival has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but that doesn't meant kids can't paint. This year the District Council of Yankalilla is holding an on-line youth art competition for History Month.

Entries that depict an historic scene, character, building, place or activity that is part of the area's history, are invited from young artists who live or holiday in the area.

Prizes will be offered in two categories; juniors aged 5 to 12 and seniors aged 13 to 20.

First prize in each category is $100 and second prize is $50. The artwork can be mixed medium, acrylic, oils, pastels or coloured pencils.

Due to the COVID-19 National Health Emergency this competition is being held electronically. A photograph of your entries from A4 size up to and no larger than 1.5sqm will be accepted

Entries must be emailed no later than 4.00pm on Saturday 30 May. Full conditions of entry and entry forms may be found on the District Council of Yankalilla website

Artworks will be displayed on the website from Friday 5 June and winners will be announced in July and published in the council’s In the Loop newsletter.
