Calling young Yankalilla runners and supporters

A public information session for the Run Yank Run program will be held on Wednesday 11 August at 7pm at Club Fleurieu, Yankalilla.

The program was first developed in 2011 by passionate volunteers who wanted to prepare participants for the 2012 Gold Coast Half-Marathon.

Their initial goal was achieved when 13 young people from Yankalilla ran the 21.2km distance.

Run Yank Run helps young members of the community to build life skills, create positive attitudes, and increase self-esteem and confidence.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the program.

Everyone invited to attend the information session to find out about the Run Yank Run 2022 program and how to get involved.

This could include taking part as a runner, as a volunteer youth mentor, or as part of the fundraising and sponsorship planning team.

To register interest in attending the session, or to get involved, contact Julianne Rilstone at the District Council of Yankalilla on 8558 0262 or by email.
