Two new categories recognising businesses' efforts to survive and thrive during the current global pandemic have been added to the 2020 ON Business Awards.
There are now 16 award categories in Onkaparinga businesses can nominate - or be nominated - with nominations now open.
In their second year, the awards are an initiative of the City of Onkaparinga’s ON Business Partner Program to celebrate and recognise local businesses, and encourage more people to give them their support and dollars.
This year’s awards are being held in conjunction with the council’s new marketing campaign, ‘Go South Go Local’.
Onkaparinga Mayor Erin Thompson said the awards are, “a tremendous opportunity to recognise and celebrate the success of businesses within the City of Onkaparinga in what has been a very difficult year for our economy”.
In the new 'Resilience during COVID-19' category, organisers are seeking “businesses who have displayed an ability to quickly adapt to disruptions while maintaining continuous business operations and safeguarding people, assets and overall brand equity during the COVID pandemic”.
Meanwhile, the 'Cooperation during COVID-19' category will celebrate “businesses who have displayed cooperation in the form of working or acting with another business for common or mutual benefit during the COVID pandemic”.
