Cape Jervis Master Plan up for discussion

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) is asking for input on its draft Cape Jervis Harbour Precinct Master Plan.

Upgrading the Sealink terminal for the ferry service to Kangaroo Island requires demolition of the existing public jetty.

The jetty will be closed to the public from 6am Tuesday 2 April, immediately after Easter. It will then be demolished.

DIT says the draft Cape Jervis Harbour Precinct Master Plan reflects what is most important to the community and the region.

It has been informed by engagement with stakeholders and the community, along with extensive research and technical analysis.

“This includes the incorporation of key recommendations from the recently completed Cape Jervis traffic study.”

Community information sessions on the draft Master Plan will be held at the Cape Jervis Community Club on 15 and 16 March.

The project team will be available to answer questions from 5pm to 7pm of Friday and 11am to 1pm on Saturday.

The plan is available online for review and feedback, including a survey to complete, until Sunday 21 April.
