The Australian Grand Prix may have been cancelled again this year but Fleurieu residents won’t miss out, with the Mad Dash coming to Willunga.

Start thinking about jazzing up the old go-kart and letting the imagination run wild.

It will be a springtime celebration of silliness on 7 November, but it’s time to gear up now; registrations close on 14 July.

Organisers say the Mad Dash is not your average billy cart race; it’s all about creativity and fun and not so much about speed and finish times.

Racers will be scored on their team costume and theme and cart design, as well as their final time.

The goal is to provide a fun community event with a healthy dose of silliness for everyone.
