Celebrate Science Week with a journey through space

The Victor Harbor library will host A Journey Through Space for both kids and adults on Saturday 19 August.

Skywatch Astronomy Education will set up its Mirrordome planetarium 360 degree movie experience at the civic centre to help celebrate National Science Week.

Facilitator and Skywatch owner Dean Davidson will present sessions on the night sky, tailored to specific age groups.

Earth's Wild Ride, for ages 3 to 14, takes a journey through space and time to the moon. Oasis in Space, for ages 15+, takes a ride though the solar system.

  • Session 1, Earth's Wild Ride, is for ages 3 to 10 years, accompanied by a caregiver, from 10am to 10.45am.

  • Session 3, Oasis in Space, is for adults, from 12noon to 12.45pm.

The Skywatch experience harnesses curiosity and broadens knowledge of space, astronomy, geography and prehistoric history in an interactive and exciting format.

City of Victor Harbor Deputy Mayor David Kemp, says this is set to be a great experience for all ages.

“From preschoolers to adults, this is about harnessing your curiosity, broadening your knowledge of space, astronomy, geography and prehistoric history in an
