The Friends of Nangawooka Flora Reserve will celebrate spring with an open day, in conjunction with the Australian Plant Society SA Fleurieu Group.
It will be held at the reserve, on the corner of Waterport Road and the Adelaide-Victor Harbor Road, this Sunday 11 September from 10am to 3pm.
There will be a sausage sizzle and afternoon tea will be on offer.
The Australian Plant Society will hold a plant sale, with growers on hand to provide advice on planting and nurturing plants.
Free soil testing is available for those who take along soil samples.
Maintained by volunteers, Nangawooka is a 5-acre reserve north of Victor Harbor.
It was started in 1982 and plantings range from WA species at the Northern end of the reserve to a mix of general native species in the centre and species specific to the Fleurieu Peninsula nearer the Southern entrance.
Entry to the reserve is free but a gold coin donation is always appreciated. Cash payment may be required for food and plants sales.
