Love Your Bookshop Day is on Saturday 3 October and south coast writers can celebrate by entering a writing competition.

South Seas Books & Trading in Port Elliot is one local bookshop that will host a range of activities to celebrate their customers' passion for books and reading, including book giveaways and the writing competition.

Participants should submit a piece of creative writing of no more than 250 words, inspired by the theme: What your Bookshop means to you.

Entries close at 4.45 pm on Saturday 3 October 2020 - Love Your Bookshop Day.

The winning submission will be published on the South Seas Books & Trading website and social media platforms.

First prize will be an $85 book voucher; and second prize will be a $50 book voucher. South Seas Books Staff will assess submissions.

Unpublished works of poetry, fiction or non-fiction will be accepted. Entry is free, but optional gold coin donations will go to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
