After eight years in the role and 11 months supporting the newly elected council, the City of Onkaparinga and its CEO, Mark Dowd, have "mutually agreed to part ways as his current tenure comes to an end".
In a statement released to the media, the council says it appreciates the significant achievements by Mark during his tenure over the past eight years.
"Mark has been pivotal in leading a large range of significant projects for the Council, including activation, investment and economic development, most notably the ON Business Partner program which was set up to support all of Onkaparinga businesses," the statement says.
Mayor Erin Thompson says, "we acknowledge the work done by Mark in successfully leading the administration of the council for this long period of time and the achievements that he and his staff have been able to achieve".
"I personally wish to thank Mark for his efforts and wish him every continuing success in his future career.
"We will soon commence a recruitment process to find a new CEO and continue delivering great outcomes for our communities."
