Christmas cancelled in Strath

Organisers of the Christmas Where the Angas Flows Christmas Pageant in Strathalbyn have announced theevent will not be held in 2020.

Making the announcement on Facebook, event organisers said the decision was taken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our main priority is keeping our community as safe as possible and due to the increased difficulty in being able to ensure this within the COVID-19 environment, it was deemed necessary to cancel the pageant.

“As the proud organisers of this event for the past three years, we are saddened by the requirement to make this decision but we look forward to continuing to organise this important community event for many years to come.

The organising committee for the associated Christmas Where the Angas Flows Carols event have also decided to take the same action and will not hold the carols this year.

At this stage the Goolwa Christmas Festival is still scheduled for 13 December as is Port Elliot’s Carols in the Park for 15 December.

There is no word as yet on City of Onkaparinga festive events, the Victor Harbor Christmas Pageant and Carols by the Sea, nor the Normanville New Year’s Eve Pageant.
