Police have arrested a man over the theft of Christmas decorations from businesses in the southern suburbs. Officers also located other property suspected of being stolen and want to identify the rightful owners.
Sometime between 10pm Wednesday 15 November and 7am on Thursday 16 November a fence was cut to a business premises on O’Sullivan Beach Road, Lonsdale and a number of Christmas inflatable decorations and lights pictured below were stolen.
Following investigations, police attended a Morphett Vale address yesterday, Tuesday 5 December, and recovered three inflatable Santas and returned them to the victim.
A 40-year-old Morphett Vale man was arrested and charged with theft.
Police allegedly recovered more stolen property and the man was charged with additional counts of theft, including the theft of Christmas lights from a Noarlunga hardware store on 4 November, unlawful possession, drive unlicensed and breach of bail.
He was refused police bail and appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today.
Police are also seeking the assistance of the public to identify the rightful owners of other items, including Axis multimedia systems, an Axis television, Amaza Pro GPS units and brackets, all in their original packaging, that are also suspected of being stolen.
