Christmas markets across the region

‘Tis the season for Christmas markets and there will be many across the Fleurieu in coming weeks.

The Strathalbyn Country Women’s Association will hold its annual pre-Christmas market on Saturday 27 November.

It will offer the opportunity to start the Christmas shopping at the Strathalbyn Show Hall from 9am to 3pm.

Friday 3 December will see two twilight Christmas markets, also held in aid of good causes.

The Community Christmas Market at Mount Compass will run from 5pm to 9pm and will include carols and a visit from Santa in the Main Street.

Following the success of its Community Grooves market in early November, the Hindmarsh Valley Progress Association will hold a twilight Christmas market from 4pm to 9.30pm.

It will feature arts, crafts, food and produce at the Hindmarsh Valley Memorial Hall, with all money raised supporting the community halls.

More of an exhibition than a market, but also well worth a visit next weekend is the annual Christmas Tree Festival at St Augustine’s Anglican church in Victor Harbor.

It will be open from 2pm to 7pm on Friday 3 December, 9am to 9pm on Saturday 4 December and from 11am to 3pm and Sunday 5 December at the church hall in Burke Street.

It will include children’s activities, morning and afternoon teas and raffles, as well as a nativity play and carols, plus exhibition winners announced on the Saturday night.
