Get set for Hugh Grant stammering and bumbling his way toward love with his trademark English awkwardness when the hit 1994 film Four Weddings and a Funeral is screened by Cinemallunga in October.
Cinemallunga is a Willunga-based community group which organises events centred around the showing of classic films at Willunga Show Hall. With previous films including Ferris Bueller's Day Off, ET, Blue Hawaii and The Princess Bride, attendees are encouraged to dress up in line with a theme and enjoy added fun such as music, food and drinks.
For Four Weddings and a Funeral on Saturday 19 October, come in your best (or worst) wedding attire - think hats, fascinators, frocks and suits - for the film screening and then some wedding reception karaoke fun afterwards.
The film follows Charles, played by Hugh Grant, as he seeks love, whilst attending four weddings and a funeral. His involvement with Carrie, an American played by Andie MacDowell, over the period forms the central theme of this award nominated movie. Laughs, tears and a healthy dose of lusty encounters made this one of the top grossing movies of its time.
The bar opens at 6pm and guests must be in their pews by 7.30pm.
There will be dinners to purchase on the night.
Tickets are now on sale from Tall Poppy in Willunga, or online from trybooking.com/551590
Adult tickets are $15 per person and concession, $12.
Willunga Show Hall is located at 7 Main Road, Willunga.
