Cove won their fourth game in a row following an 84-point win against Hackham during round 11 action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Hackham on Sunday. The Cobras led throughout to win 13.12 (90) to 1.0 (6). Emily Risitano kicked six goals for Cove and she was well supported by Ella Gill who kicked three. Tallara Power kicked the only goal for the Hawks. Best players for Cove included Angelique Dean, Gill, Ashleigh Need, Naomi Jones, Hayley Donnell and Breanna Stoldt. Hackham was best served by Tallara Power, Alana Browne, Nevara Richards, Dakota Dwyer, Shayley MacFadyen and Caitlin Haire.
Port Noarlunga moved up to second spot on the ladder with an 84-point win against Ironbank Cherry Gardens yesterday. ‘Porties’ led by 33 points at halftime and kicked a further eight goals to one in the second half to win 12.18 (90) to 1.0 (6). Philippa Worthley (5), Chrysti Flevill (3) and Jolande Winson (2) were the leading goalkickers for the Cockle Divers, while Olivia Walker-Obushak kicked the only goal for the Thunderers. Best players for Port Noarlunga included Shakira Dolman, Winson, Worthley, Nasyah Turner, Teegan Mesecke and Megan Weetra. Cassandra Wilson, Walker-Obushak, Georgia Kempster, Bailey Preston, Talah Rigby and Audrey Myers were named best for Ironbank Cherry Gardens.
Noarlunga has withdrawn their team for the rest of the 2024 season.
