Cove consolidated their spot in the top-four after defeating Reynella by 29 points during round seven action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Reynella last Friday night. Cove led by 11 points at halftime, before kicking three goals to none in the third term to take an unassailable 29-point lead at the final change. A goal-less last term saw the Cobras win 6.3 (39) to 1.4 (10). Emily Hocking, Emily Risitano and Lauren Kenny all kicked two goals for Cove, while Neive Morgan kicked the only goal for the Wine Flies. Best players for Cove included Angelique Dean, Jaymie Savaidis, Dana O'Brien, Jemima Buss, Jaime Norup and Amelia Woodcock. Reynella’s best players were Caitlin Williams, Summer Weir, Miller Thompson, Tayla Wright, Imogen Tonks and Isabelle Bruhn.
Reigning premiers Port Noarlunga won their sixth game of the season after defeating Christies Beach by 73 points. ‘Porties’ led by 34 points at halftime, before kicking a further five goals to none in the second half to win 12.17 (89) to 2.4 (16). Abbie Healey (3), Tyla Pyman (2) and Schanna L’Estrange (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Cockle Divers, while Chloe Brooks and Tara Vivar-Hayes were the goalkickers for the Saints. Eilish O’Hanlon, Maddy Craggs, Amber O'Hanlon, L'Estrange, Zoe Flesfadar and Aisha White-Winter were named best players for Port Noarlunga, while Christies Beach was best served by Vivar-Hayes, Brooks, Hayley Haire, Georgia Payne, Madison Marsh and Bella Wheatley.
Blackwood sit just outside the top-four after defeating Aldinga by 47 points at Aldinga. The Woods led at every change to win 7.14 (56) to 1.3 (9). Olivia Emes kicked four goals for Blackwood, while Kimberly Thomson kicked the only goal for the Sharks. Best players for Blackwood included Charlotte Collins, Lily Brook, Emes, Simi Dhaliwal, Caitlin Hill and Madeleine Drew. Skye Wilson, Ayla Regione, Zoe De Kievit, Holly Wilde, Charlotte Goerecke and Taryn Vizgaudis were named best for Aldinga.
Flagstaff Hill received a forfeit win from Hackham.
Ironbank Cherry Gardens had the bye.
