Cockle Divers book their finals spot in the Southern Football League Women's competition

Port Noarlunga consolidated third spot on the ladder after defeating Hackham by 120 points during round 13 action in the Southern Football League Women’s ‘A’ grade competition yesterday. The Cockle Divers led by 36 points at quarter time, 51 points at halftime, and 89 points at the last change, before winning 16.24 (120) to 0.0 (0). Phillipa Worthley kicked five goals in a best-on-ground performance for Port Noarlunga, while Tyla Pyman kicked four goals to be named second best. Joining Worthley and Pyman in the best players for ‘Porties’ were Deanna Ortuso, Sheridan Poland, Teegan Mesecke and Nikki Parker. Kaylah Richards, Emily Unger and Ashleigh Dayman were among the best players for the Hawks.


Reigning premier Flagstaff Hill won their seventh game in a row with a 106-point win at Aldinga yesterday. The Falcons led by 64 points at halftime and kicked a further six goals to zero to win 16.10 (106) to 0.0 (0). Carli Morton had a day out for ‘Flaggies’ with seven goals, while Tamsyn Morriss kicked two goals. Best players for the Falcons were Elouisa Thomas, Jenna Andrews, Morton, Czenya Cavouras and Rachel Crockart. Best players for the Sharks included Kimberly Robinson, Amber O’Hanlon and Carlee Evans.


Reynella won their 12th game in a row with a 48-point win against Cove at Reynella. The final scores were Reynella 6.12 (48) to Cove 0.0 (0). Casie Coombe kicked three goals for the Wine Flies and Grace Doran slotted two majors. Best players for Reynella were Caitlin Walter, Zannah Loxton, Anja Bancevic, Catherine Quinn and Caitlin Williams. Cove were best served by Lauren Kenny, Ella Gill, Ashleigh Need, Breanna Stoldt and Rebecca O’Shaughnessy. 


Christies Beach had the bye.
