Minister for Human Services Nat Cook says the decision has been made to activate the Code Blue in some regional centres due to forecast rough weather including storms and low temperatures.
“Rain makes it difficult for people sleeping rough to stay dry and when you add wind into the mix, it creates added health and safety risks.
“These Code Blue responses help people experiencing homelessness who are most affected by extreme winter weather to remain warm and safe.
“I encourage rough sleepers, or anyone who knows a rough sleeper, to call Homeless Connect SA – these services are here to help.”
